From job sites to closing tables
Mario Rakanovic grew up around Waterloo Region and studied Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University. Before real estate, he spent years in sales management, including running operations for a catering business — work that taught him how to read a room, manage a timeline, and keep a promise under pressure.
In 2017, Mario co-founded WRX Property Group, buying, renovating, and repositioning properties across Kitchener, Waterloo, and Cambridge — everything from small cosmetic updates to major overhauls. He's also purchased new-construction homes directly from builders, which means he understands the process from the inside: upgrade decisions, Tarion warranty coverage, and the closing quirks specific to new builds. That hands-on experience — knowing what a foundation crack actually costs to fix, what a permit delay does to a closing date, what a "renovated" listing photo is hiding — still shapes how he advises clients today.
He became a licensed REALTOR® in 2013, working first with Keller Williams, then Cloud Realty Inc., and is now back with Keller Williams Innovation Realty, based out of Kitchener. Across every brokerage, the throughline has been the same: buyer and seller representation across the full spread of Waterloo Region, from starter condos near the universities to new-build family homes in Kitchener's south end — plus regular work throughout Guelph, Stratford, Woodstock, and the smaller communities of Elmira, Wellesley, and Tavistock.
